So far I have used the place value inquiry and it has been really helpful breaking down numbers into decimals and understanding place value. I will also use it to show fraction-decimal relationships.
As the year goes on I will come back and use some of the other prompts from the site. I also will be making my own using some these ideas.
Which One Doesn't Belong. Google Slides. I do one or two a day and let kids argue about which of the 4 don't belong. All could be the right answer, the important part is being able to justify your thinking.
Did you make this or did someone take all the pictures from WODB site and turn it into a google doc? I love WODB just for the fact kids can talk about what they see and the language and math is where they are in their learning. Such a great way to get kids engaged in MP3!
I have been doing some number talks with something I found on instagram, called SMART AND CLEVER, I screen shot the image and then send it to myself, I sometimes 'clean up' the image before putting it on my slides. They are fun math images that has a missing value and students need to use clues in the image to determine the solution.
Here is the slide show I used as an introduction to Descriptive Statistics https://docs.google.com/a/cbcsd.org/presentation/d/1Yntl3GdlWkfMMERmLeHGpMeHjsEmQa3_fsqM-CSium0/edit?usp=sharing
